Weekend in Waterton July 17 & 18

Activity: Hiking

Description: While attempting a stream crossing the individual slipped falling backwards onto their arms. The right arm was hyper extended, in a backward direction, over stretching the shoulder muscles and ligaments.


Onsite first aid provided: Make shift split built in the field to help minimize shoulder movement. The individual was given Ibuprofen to relieve pain

Clinic/hospital visit required? Initial assessment provided by Waterton EMS. The attendee was then taken to Cardston Hospital for further examination and x-rays. The patient's arm was placed in a sling and the patient was then transported back to Calgary by the coordinator.
